Overview of scholarship

The Development Fund of the The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia has financed a project by Beetroot Academy to offer tuition fee support to 4 groups in Mariupol and another 4 groups in Zaporizhia. In each city 48 applicants will get a partial scholarship that covers 75% of tuition fee and 10 applicants will get a full scholarship that covers the entire tuition fee.

The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is providing these scholarship in order to:

  • Support regional development in Mariupol and Zaporizhia regions
  • Develop employability and entrepreneurship skills among vulnerable groups in Eastern Ukraine.

Application period

We start to get applications from 15 august
Apply now – students will be accepted on rolling basis (the groups will start as soon as the sufficient number of eligible candidates are selected) for both tracks in September and December

Scholarship tution

Partial scholarship tuition fee support, 48 available per city:
  • Total tuition fee: 13 250 UAH
  • Partial Scholarship: 10 250 UAH
  • Self-funding: 3 000 UAH
Full scholarship tuition fee support, 10 available per city:
  • Total tuition fee: 13 250 UAH
  • Full Scholarship: 13 250 UAH

This course is focused on crafting responsive, adaptive, interactive, and simply beautiful websites. You will explore the basics and secrets of HTML, CSS and JavaScript — three main coding languages used for building modern websites.

Course description

4 months, part time course 20h / week

This course takes you on the path of creating beautiful and user-friendly websites. On the one hand, you can learn the approaches for good user experience (UX) and modern web design. On the other, we will go over the ageless principles of composition, typography, and color combinations.

Application Process

Initial requirements for applicants:
  • If applying on the basis of being an IDP or ATO veteran, make sure you carry with you the right documentation;
  • Have an own functional laptop;
  • Be able to pay 3000 UAH study fees (except 10 full scholarship recipients who will be selected based on the Letter of Motivation)
Steps to complete your application

Submit your name and basic info via an application form

Attend an interview with local manager

Take online test (if successfully pass the interview)

Email documents:

  • Letter of Motivation with the topic “My Future after Beetroot Academy” (up to 1 page, Times New Roman, font size 12);
  • CV (free form file);
  • Supporting documents, for example scan of IDP or ATO card.
Decisions

Scholarship recipients are decided on a rolling basis.

Individual decisions will be made in 2 weeks after submitting the documents requested in Step 4. We will form groups based on the first 15 qualified candidates who are admitted to the courses. The application round will be closed when the groups are full.

Scholarship selection criteria
Motivational letter

Selecting students for the scholarship is primarily based on why you want to study at Beetroot Academy. To explain your motivation, please write a Letter of Motivation on the topic “My Future after Beetroot Academy.” Remember that we look for different kinds of candidates:

  • People who are ambitious and visionary;
  • People who show technical talent;
  • People who simply need a stable job to take care of their families and communities.

The 10 admitted students with the strongest motivation letters will receive the 100% scholarships"

Our courses are beginner friendly

We don’t expect candidates to have experience in IT, but we do look for basic computer literacy, research, and problem-solving skills.

  • Estonian Refugee Council, our project partner, is also giving out small grants to support entrepreneurship and self-employment Eastern Ukraine.
